The conference proceedings publishes contributions to the 3rd Forum Architekturwissenschaft on the topic of historic and contemporary architectural education - from master builder to master - that was held 25.-27. The papers discuss case studies of architectural education from the 19th to the 21st century along questions of continuous relevance - such as the notion of actors' perspectives, teaching formats or institutional politics. Thus, history, present and future of architecture as a particular educational field are brought into a joint discourse. Academic research is joined with voices from the practice of teaching. The publication's structure binds the individual contributions in the narrative of these transtemporal questions.
