My name is Mo Hersi. I am a comedian and a documentary maker. It was 34 years ago that I fled from Ethiopia with my family and found a new place to live in the Netherlands. Over the years, I have occupied myself with subjects such as integration and how we as Dutch citizens view each other in our society. I am not only especially fascinated by the way in which we view migrants and refugees who wish to settle here in the Netherlands, but also by the requirements that these people must meet and the much discussed integration course. I wonder what the course's purpose is. Does taking an integration course instantly turn you into a good person? Or a good Dutch citizen?
