The Kingdom of Caval finally had an heir. This year, the Calling would be different. Those who have come of age, the age of eighteen, this year will not only go into the Calling for their job placements, the females from Caval have a chance to be in the Calling for Princess. The lands have been broken, torn by wars that all but wiped away humanity. The founders of the six kingdoms that formed after the wars, declared the Calling as well. It was a way to rebuild the population, place people where they would work the best. To the founders of Serenity Lands, the name given to the kingdoms as a whole, it was the only way to save the human race from dying out. None of those founders thought that the laws they placed would only cause another war. When Esmee Rivers entered her Calling, like all the people before her, she had no idea that her Calling would be like none of the others. A life she once lived for her family and her kingdom turned upside down. She was not deemed the life of a worker or a breeder, like she assumed she would be. She was placed in the Calling for princess. The one girl from the Caval kingdom to marry Prince Theos would come from this group of girls. This year though the lies and deceit, secrets and traitors come to dethrone and take everything from the lands, from the people. Already a land destroyed by wars, the people were trying to bring back life, to make the populations thrive again. Generations of people had built these kingdoms, these walls. Yet it only takes one loose stone to cause the whole wall to crumble.
