Aprašymas

The Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) is the focal diagram in all process plants. This book provides information regarding the development of P&ID's for the personnel and designers of process plants. The book begins by covering the basics of P&ID development rules. Next it covers the three main components of a process plant; equipment and other process items, control system, and utility system. For each of these elements the skills for P&ID development is explained together with plenty of examples and general practices for each component.

After learning those, the readers will have ability how to develop a P&ID when it has a new unit like separator (in oil &gas industry) or clarifier (in water treatment industry) or a Sterilizer (in food industry). Each chapter begins with the symbol of that element. For instrumentation the book follows ISA standards (Instrumentation Society of America) except in the equipment section as there is no standard symbology for P&ID's and they are varied based on the development of various companies from Europe, Canada, US, and Japan.

The information in this book can not only be used for the purpose of P&ID development, but also is necessary to gaining a deep knowledge of a process plant during different activities including HAZOP, value engineering and even operation.
