The disorganized army leaves Vienna and travels through Hungary. A battle erupts in the town of Semlin that results in thousands of Hungarians slaughtered. God's army scatters into the countryside of Bulgaria to flee retribution, but it finds them. Eventually they are escorted to Constantinople. Jerome and his father find favor among the Byzantine court. In Anatolia internal strife erupts among the men of God's Army. Will the group be torn apart? Is it even possible to reach Jerusalem?
