Standards are criterion (e.g. a rule, test, model, example) against which like-kind things are compared for similarities/differences. By contrast, human-made Standards represent agreed upon criterion of excellence--"is it FOR me or AGAINST me"--or "injustice giving 'Us' unfair advantages and 'Them' unfair dis-advantages."
