Yet something strange has come, for these words tell of Izilba and Zhera' (Jared), and of their sorrow and restoration, during what Tolkien calls "the Second Age," the couple fleeing from the island of Numenor; that land having falling into evil, its "mighty men" plotting an assault upon the Gods abiding in Aman.
