After my mother's death in 2001 I began running as a cathartic means of dealing with my loss. Running was that free space where I could flow with my thoughts and cultivate my story. While running I became clear and present to the dark nights of my soul. I examined my responses to my mother's death, my fractured family relationships and my buried dreams. Somehow running brought a remarkable sense of clarity to my chaos and gave me a sense of focus. The gift of a formula emerged, in the form of two questions. What is my intention? Where is my attention? These two questions lead me to transform my pain into my power while being in a state of wandering. In the midst of running this formula of Clear Intention + Focused Attention = Divine Retention, guided me to shift my Stories, my Habits, my Influences, my Thoughts.
