Kade didn't realize just how much his world would fall apart when his parents found out that he was gay. Although his mother supported him, his father was furious. This novel shows the emotional roller coaster that Kade and his family experiment as they try to understand homosexuality. Kade and his best friend, John, actually witness some of the hatred that exists in this country. Each day becomes a struggle for John as he battles with his own sexual identity. Kade wants to help his friend feel worthy. Kade's mother, Monica, is enraged at the way homosexuals are treated. She comes up with a proposal for the school board that will help end bullying in the schools. All is going as planned until Kade suddenly disappears. This is a powerful story that will hopefully help people view the LGBT community in a more positive way.
