Nona is a witch in a world that hates witches. She lives in peace among humans and tries to hide her identity, but it’s not easy when the Magic Surveillance Bureau hunts down anyone they suspect of using magic. Little does she know that a small act of kindness on her part will change her life forever…

One of the only other people in the entire world who knows Nona is a witch is her human best friend, Lovi. The girls guard the secret with their lives, and although they’re careful, there are those in the city who watch like hawks for any spark or plume of magic. Despite the girls’ best efforts, Nona’s secret gets out, and before long she and her mother must flee town—or else face the brutal Magic Surveillance Bureau.
