Winter India was written by an American woman traveller who had spent long periods in Asia, particularly in Japan, Java, China and India. The book was published in 1903 during the British colonial empire but Eliza Scidmore trascends that period of history and mentions places and ceremonies and gods and goddesses which are part of the India of all times.
