Bareth is a somewhat boring academic leading a somewhat predictable life. That is until he embarks on a solitary sailing trip to mark the anniversary of his mother's death and finds himself stranded on an uncharted island. There he makes an even more shocking discovery--the inhabitants have wings!


Overwhelmed by both the winged inhabitants' welcome and their insistence he is there to fulfill an ancient quest, Bareth tries to make sense of it all while living wingless in a winged world.


Why was he brought here and how does this connect to the woman he foresaw in a dream? Who is behind the Wings Forever group and are they a threat to not only Bareth, but to the rest of the unwinged world? Bareth must discover the answers to these questions while learning that sometimes even saving the world comes down to trust.
