This monograph offers the first rigorous critical survey of Will Paucar's production. Edited by Beatrice Fellegara, the volume functions as a choral essay merging scientific contributions from scholars active in ICONE - European Research Center for the History and Theory of the Image (Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele), directed by Francesca Pola, and contemporary art criticism, to investigate the artwork as a mirror to find oneself against today's loss of identity. The focus maps connections between European painterly roots and transatlantic research, reflecting Paucar's nomadic identity. Across Milan, Paris, and Amsterdam, the Italo-Ecuadorian artist merges material expressionism, Bacon's "spatial dramaturgy," and Byzantine icons with the abstraction of Rothko and Cy Twombly, embedding his Latin matrix.

It is within the series Anima Mundi, Figures, and Ethereal Realms that facial erasure becomes, in Lisa Sanguineti's reading, an "Aesthetic of Undersharing": a radical resistance to the hyper-visibility theorized by authors like Guy Debord and Byung-Chul Han. Removing world noise, the denied face and the painterly density guide the viewer toward abstraction, forcing inward reflection. This vision intersects with Fellegara's INTHYMOS research on Collective Intimacies, originating in the Rothko Chapel archives and developed through a diverse range of curatorial and scientific projects, resonating with Paucar's expressionist gesture as a collective ritual and a radical affirmation of existence.
