Through author Angela Sprangers' extensive love affair with children's books, she came to realize that a lot of the kids she worked with didn't get to see themselves in the books they were reading. Then, one winter afternoon at a conference about reading in Madison, Wisconsin, the speaker stated that there were more books about bears than about kids of different races and abilities. In a time when learning about diversity in every way is so crucial, the possibilities of exposure for many kids are still lacking. In that moment, her book, this book, your book, was born. Angela wants kids of all walks (or wheels) of life, of all backgrounds and skin colors to see one thing...at the heart, kids are just kids.
