Will Alan choose Elizabeth, who believes in love, or Priscilla, a worldly socialite whose family name stands for wealth and prestige in Boston? While he decides, will Stephen Wright, the handsome, charming, and upstanding lawyer steal Elizabeth right from under Alan's nose?
