"Foyle's poems carry on in the tradition of Derek Walcott, there can be no doubt. But make no mistake, these are original and thoughtful insights by a talented and sensitive poet, writing from his own cultural perspective. I was particularly struck by how Foyle's poems engaged all my senses. In the Beyond the Caribbean section that introduces the collection, Adonal Foyle goes on to give us insights into his years as an athlete, his travels, and his views on politics - all in verse.
