When Canisa Lubrin's debut collection, Voodoo Hypothesis, was published in 2017 it soon became clear that an important new literary voice was being heard.

Now, ten years and several awards later, Lubrin returns to her first, groundbreaking work, updating the original text, adding new poetry and gathering critical responses. Written to subvert the imperial construct of "blackness" and to reject the contemporary and historical systems that paint Black people as inferior, Voodoo Hypothesis is just as important now as it was ten years ago.
