This publication presents the history of the old ensemble of Vilnius University buildings. It describes thirteen university courtyards and some other buildings in the Old Town which are not part of the university campus but are important for its history. The history of the buildings is closely related to the people who brought fame to Vilnius University by working, studying or living there. These legends and stories should be interesting not only to students, professors and alumni of the university, but also to the visitors coming to see the town and the university.
