Something has gone terribly wrong in the ancient Norse settlements the Americans call Viking, NJ. Olvir's grandfather is dead. His uncle is acting like a crazy man, and strange vandals have invaded Dellingholm to start fires. As if that weren't enough, the young Norseman, already deeply suspicious of the Americans surrounding the borders of the two settlements, has finally fallen in love...with an American woman. Olvir no longer has any idea where to turn or who he can trust. Underneath it all, the dark legacy of his people's past inexorably stirs to life.
