Lee Duggan's Via Settembre is an eco-poetical song that uses a deft and incisive collage-like practice to instil a sense of multiple space-times folding-in and over one another across various landscapes and locations from North Wales to Italy to London and back again. In these sinewy and dynamic lines, intensely-realised embodied encounters with the more-than-human give way to subtle social critique and moments of self-revelation. Duggan proposes poetry as ritual, as lines of enquiry where a 'body inside thought' 're-imagines' whilst 'yielding the familiar / to other'. Restlessly inventive and communicatively urgent, this compelling work 'cut me through the alternative route' - prepare for a wild ride.
