And what in England might be considered Burlesque would, in America, be termed Vaudeville! What they have come to understand are the various characters and influences which make up Music Hall acts or turns. Including those based on the operas of Richard Wagner, such as Das Rheingold, Die Feen, Die Valküre or even Parsifal producing disrespectful parody or pantomime and embarrassing moments even in the well-appointed red plush Music Halls!
