Aprašymas

A legal suspense surrounding now-famous art pieces stolen during WWII
Janae Simmons left the small town of Kedgewick, Virginia, ten years ago to pursue her legal career and never looked back--until a life mistake leads her to her grandmother's historic carriage house, and to the town where her past may catch up with her. Questions about her grandfather's true identity plague Janae, launching her on a journey to unearth his secrets. Her new job at the local law firm certainly doesn't hurt matters.
Carter Montgomery starts his art preservation career with the only job he can get--Director at Elliott Museum of Art. At least Kedgewick is a nice-enough town to provide his nephew with a safe place to grieve the loss of his mom, Carter's sister. But Carter's sedate days escalate when an elderly woman claims two museum paintings were stolen from her family during World War II.
Carter enlists the help of Janae, who now works at a local law firm, to navigate the legal complexities of art ownership. As Carter and Janae zero-in on a money laundering scheme, an attorney turns up dead and Janae uncovers another stolen painting. What has seemed like a simple legal issue turns into a race against time--with stakes so high, they might never see safe ground again.
