Best-selling author Raymond E. Fowler has proved his merit as an investigative journalist. Dr. J. Ray with degrees in Bible and Greek, documents the devastating impact archaeological findings have upon the historicity of the Bible, Judaism and Christianity. Ugaritic texts have been called "the greatest literary discovery from antiquity since the deciphering of the Egyptian hieroglyphs and Mesopotamian cuneiform". They and other archaeological findings unmask Old Testament polytheism hidden for centuries. They reveal Israelites were Canaanites worshipping the supreme Phoenician God El of Genesis 1 whose divine council of 70 sons created heavens, earth and man. Yahweh was just one of his sons and was gifted Israel to rule by El.

Ray documents how editors replaced El with Yahweh resulting in contrary accounts throughout the Old Testament. Other findings show that the Flood, Patriarchs, David, Moses, Exodus and Canaan conquest never occurred and are a combination of mythological stories composed by Judaic priests to create a national identity for Israel upon their return to Canaan from exile in Babylon.
