This is a comprehensive, beautifully constructed of ecotheology, a new spirituality and theology consistent with science, the intuitions of the mystics, and the spirit behind all religious wisdom that points toward the interconnection of all nature, and all reality. The essential problem is superficiality--living on the surface, indifferent to reality. The goal is to move toward complexity--which refers to the interwoven nature of reality. Beginning with the thought of Panikkar, he moves to philosophy (including Teilhard and Whitehead), to the theme of ecology in world religions and in biblical tradition (and teaching of Jesus), the green tradition in theology and Christianity, leading up to Pope Francis (Laudato Si'), concluding with the meeting of ecotheology and ecospirituality.
