Pedagogy deals with the theory and practice of learning. It studies the learning processes and how they influence and are influenced by the psychological, social and political development of the learners. It aims to study how skills and knowledge are imparted in an educational context. It is often defined as the act of teaching. The field is also influenced by various cultural and social contexts in which the teaching takes place. It influences the judgements, actions and teaching strategies undertaken by the teachers to understand the needs and background of their students. The field majorly undertakes three approaches. These are student-centered learning, critical pedagogy and dialogic learning. This book explores all the important aspects of pedagogy in the present day scenario. It has been compiled in such a manner, that it will provide an in-depth knowledge about the theory and practice of this discipline. Through this book, we attempt to further enlighten the readers about the new concepts in this field.
