Understanding New Testament Theology offers a clear, accessible introduction to a diverse and complex field. It equips readers to trace the theology of individual New Testament books and to study major themes across the entire New Testament. This volume

- offers a definition and comprehensive overview of New Testament theology;
- maps the current scholarly landscape by exploring four major approaches: book by book, central themes, single center, and metanarrative;
- addresses key issues, such as the role of history and the canon in New Testament theology and the New Testament's use of the Old Testament; and
- examines applicational concerns, such as ethics, and the future of the discipline.

Written from an evangelical perspective and with a high view of Scripture, this volume emphasizes a historical, inductive, and descriptive method while showing how New Testament theology can serve as a bridge to systematic theology and Christian ethics. Ideal for students, pastors, and church leaders, this work equips readers to navigate ongoing debates and appreciate the rich theological witness of the New Testament in its canonical context.
