Three months after Joan's husband died by suicide Joan said to a friend that no one had visited. Her friend replied "I didn't know what to do."

This has been the catalyst to write an autobiographical reflection about her lived experience.

This book had been an attempt to answer the question Joan asked herself "if a friend didn't know what to do or how to support her" she began to search for answers to look at what are some ways change can happen?

Years later while talking about that time of loss "We didn't believe You" was the catalyst for writing the book 'Resilience.'

The book 'Twenty Years on' encompasses the journey and some of the ways that Joan found helpful in finding hope and meaning in the midst of adversity.

Joan's faith has been an integral part of her journey.
