Dear Reader,

It was a cold winter day in January when all our family and friends gathered for our father's funeral. It was a wonderful service, my sister had put together a beautiful video portraying our father's life that brought both laughter and tears to everyone.

Afterward, my sister asked the Pastor to pray for us, so we found a quiet corner, and the Pastor prayed a prayer over my brother, sister, and I. I don't remember the words to that prayer, but, I do know that everything changed for me after that.

When I got back home I dug out my old Bible and dusted it off. I remember tossing it down on our small kitchen table and saying out loud to myself, "Now, I will find out just exactly what God has to say...about everything."

I devoured that Bible, I couldn't stop reading. And when I was finished the first time I started again a second time. God was telling me exactly what he had to say about everything.

I never wrote poetry before, but poems and psalms began to fill my mind, and as they did I wrote them down. Each one portrays a moment of time as I learned of his love and his Word, for out of the mouth flow the treasures of the heart.
