As life in the modern era has become more complex, so has the study of Toxicology. There are innumerable potential toxins that can inflict harm to humans, including pharmaceuticals, herbals, household products, environmental agents, occupational chemicals, drugs of abuse, and chemical terrorism threats. This book is intended to assist the Toxicologists in learning the pertinent toxicities of various agents seen in clinical practice. It has become increasingly difficult for healthcare providers to learn these facts with the emergence of numerous and vastly different pharmaceuticals, abused drugs, chemicals within the work place, and agents of terrorism. As the editors, we considered numerous topics in alphabetical order for inclusion in this Encyclopaedia. It is our hope that this book will provide both a rapid insight into specific toxins for toxicologists caring for potentially poisoned patients and a valuable resource for toxicology students pursuing their education.
