When Tom McCabe and two friends accidentally kill a fellow college student, Nico Ruiz, it seems like a clear case of self defense. That is, until they discover Nico was running drugs through their college.

Rather than take their chances with the small town police or risk retribution from a gang, Tom decides to bury the body, destroy the drugs, and let the rain wash away the evidence. For all intents and purposes, Nico has completely disappeared.

And that's a problem.

Tom's crime begins to unravel as the police declare Nico missing-and-assumed-dead, kickstarting the city's largest manhunt and landing the sleepy college town in the national spotlight. While the authorities collect new evidence and piece together the crime, a series of gang-style executions begins playing out across the campus.

Only Tom knows the murders are somehow connected to Nico, but to reveal this puts the lives of those he loves at risk.

Now he races to mislead the investigation, keep his secrets safe, and avoid becoming the next victim of the mysterious and violent executions.
