Five years ago, I was getting into middle age, and going downhill, I was getting pretty overweight, I was encountering health issues which were escalating, and these were having adverse effects on my personal life, my business life, and my family. So to cut a long story short, I changed. Firstly I lost three stones; I became much stronger, more flexible, changed my diet, stopped drinking, and now I've overcome my supposed lifelong illness, gout. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes. A million times yes. In improving my health and fitness, I have improved every area of my life. I was broke and depressed five years ago, despite my wonderful family, I now live in a much nicer house, drive a much nicer car, my children benefit from the finest education money can buy, our quality of life as a family has improved beyond measure, and in writing this book I'm fulfilling a lifelong ambition.
