This book aims to be a proposal for changes in the way the Church approaches the training and formation of her ministers (lay and ordained) such that we train different demographics of candidates in ways which are more attuned to the missional and ministerial demands of our current contexts. The book draws on the wisdom of Scripture, the practices and insights of the major works of theological education from the past, and the experience of other analogous fields, before concluding with some constructive proposals for possible ways forward for theological formation in the future.
