"In his conception of the nature of Theology, St. Thomas differs considerably from most modern authors.

Modern authors generally conceive of Theology as a science which deduces conclusions from truths formally and explicitly revealed. They construct the whole edifice of theological science on this analogy: Faith stands to Theology in thesupernatural order in the same relationship as the habit of first principles stands to the habit of science in the natural order." He examines how it is distinct from Philosophy and why Theology is in fact the queen of the sciences.
