This volume of my story is a flashback, recounting the bizarre events of the day which preceded the real-life nightmare described in volume one. The first day of the rest of my life got off to a great start - After drafting the letter of resignation which would draw a line under my previous nomadic existence as a globe-trotting expat in the construction industry I spent the morning relaxing in my garden and relishing the idea of becoming co-owner of the best dam bar in Saigon! As I read my morning newspaper in the glorious Vietnamese sunshine it soon became apparent that the inexplicable series of bizarre events which had engulfed my life over the previous few weeks had moved up another level of 'weirdness' but whoever or whatever was behind it seemed to be on my side so did I REALLY need to understand it? The morning's optimism faded quickly when I returned indoors to prepare for my upcoming holiday back home in Scotland -All of a sudden I wasn't so sure that 'it' was on my side after all! For the first time since the weirdness had begun I felt uncomfortable in my house. I knew I had to get out of there quickly but what I didn't know was that I was about to embark on a mind-bending odyssey that would challenge everything that I had ever believed in!
