The Underground Railroad is a collection of more than twenty-five years of covert action adventure in the Jim Crow South. The Underground Railroad was an underground system of safe houses and secret routes established in the United States during the pre-civil war to allow escaped slaves to seek safety in free states. It was primarily used by black slaves mainly to escape to Canada and free states. As the war ended, the Underground Railroad still survived and is run today by descendants of the men who used it during the Civil War.
