When Paul Stedding joined the Truthseekers group with their bi-monthly séance meetings, his fiancée Kaitlyn Hilson was mildly amused. When he announced one afternoon that during a séance he had reconnected with the reincarnated ghost of a former lover, Kaitlyn showed significant alarm. But it was Paul's mental health that concerned her.

The fact that this was the ghost of Marguerite de Valois, the blood thirsty daughter of Queen Catherine de Medici, presented great danger to Kaitlyn, who initially did not believe in any of this. Marguerite (Margot) had been obsessed with Paul since their love affair in the 16th Century.

While Margot patiently waited, eventually the invisible window between this world and hers was left unintentionally ajar, unleashing her crazed spirit to bring havoc where she could. Her focus remained the same over many incarnations: reclaim Paul as her lover and destroy Kaitlyn for good.
