This book gives a historical overview of the school system. Details about the phonological system as relating sounds, letters and pictures to children ability to learn reading and writing skills. Research proves that the brain reads sound oppose to the eyes and ears learning words. Define the terms phonics, whole language, inclusion, ADHD, and ability grouping. My educational experience growing up with cerebral palsy and my daughter's as a normal healthy child are shared. Also tips on how to help children learn to read before kindergarten and how to help children improve their reading, who are in the 4th grade or higher, and at risk.
