Originally published in 1935, this a translation of the original Chinese text. The book follows Ch'ang-Ch'un through the crowded Chinese plains, through Mongolia, Samarkand and Afghanistan. It is a fascianting travelogue and an intriguing insight in to medieval Taoism. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
