In a world that lost its magic years ago, the remote Museum of Witchcraft is a home for ancient artifacts that used to be enchanted. But its newest intern, archaeology student Mira Marinova, has reason to believe magic still exists, and the Museum's collection of mismatched, misfit relics is her one chance to prove it.

Her new coworkers are helpful but... odd, including a groundskeeper with a suspiciously wolf-shaped dog and a silver allergy, and a Director whose vehicle of choice is a chicken-legged hut. Worse, some items have gone missing on the eve of a surprise audit by an enigmatic, hooded Inspector.

And that might be Mira's fault. Because Mira has her own secret: in a world where magic is supposed to be dead and gone, she's managed to get herself cursed. With bad luck. In between knocking over priceless artifacts and losing half her socks in the wash, she'll need to figure out how to break her curse by solving a centuries-old murder and delving into the mysteries of the Museum's magical past - as well as her own.
