Aprašymas
This volume brings together contributions from the fields of history, literary history, textual history, and reception history, each of which sheds light on the Solomon narrative from its own perspective. The studies focus on political, economic, and cultural conditions as well as on the international relations both of the tenth century BCE and of the periods in which the Solomon narrative took shape. Particular emphasis falls on the textual history of the narrative in 1 Kings 1-11 in Greek, Latin, and Syriac. Furthermore, the contributions trace the reception of Solomon in Chronicles and in the works of Josephus.
