Complete Reprint of "The Shadow of The Bottle", published 1915 for a definite purpose. To aid in making the map of the United States wholly white, by removing the shadow of the bottle from the homes and hearts of men. The statistics in this book, while very enlightening, soon fall behind the truth because of the onward march of the prohibition movement. They do, however, furnish some effective ammunition for the firing line. These stories, statistics, and cartoons should contribute toward making the voter, the saloon keeper, Uncle Sam, and the devil as well, ashamed of themselves for the part they play in this traffic in the souls of men.
