Aprašymas
The Rediscovered Beauty Room is a reflection on art, music, and salvaged beauty. Written largely in Assisi, Italy, and inspired by the Spoleto Cathedral's room of restored relics, the collection is a search for a human, nonreligious form of transcendence.
Composed primarily during Jeffrey Thomson's two residencies at Arte Studio Ginestrelle in Assisi, the book reimagines beauty as something recovered rather than lost: reworked, reassembled, and rediscovered in unexpected places, including the fragments of the poet's own discarded or "failed" poems.
These quiet, tightly crafted lyrics dwell in moments of aging, desire, love, and endurance with steadiness and clarity, often inflected with subtle playfulness and wonder. Rather than treating beauty as fleeting, The Rediscovered Beauty Room considers how it persists--how it inhabits and structures experience, even in fragments, and how it can be recognized again through acts of looking, listening, and making.
