We live in a world that inherently and consistently involves pressures, pressures that tend to diminish many important facets of our true selves, and with them our spiritual growth. Such pressures often overpower and defeat us spiritually resulting in lives far less effective than they potentially can be. Yet, if spirituality really matters to us, then in spite of such obstacles, we maintain a deep desire to grow and develop toward acceptability and likeness to Christ. We want the Christian faith to be a deeply-embedded part of our life, not just something casual, some surface affair. How do we achieve such a lifestyle? How do we develop into spiritually mature men and women of God in the face of the many persistent and powerful challenges of modernity? It is such thoughts as these that motivated the writing of this book, The Quest for Spiritual Maturity. It is my prayer that every individual may be aided in his or her quest for spiritual growth through reading and applying the various principles examined and enjoined in this book.
