The Open Conspiracy is H. G. Wells' vison to establish international control over the destinies of human life. Through a process of propaganda and a type of "conspiracy" unfolding in full view, Wells hopes to establish a world that is politically, socially and economically unified, ultimately leading to a global revolution aimed at peace, welfare and happiness - a "world commonwealth".

First published in 1928 when the world was grappling with the effects of the First World War, and radical movements like communism and fascism were shaking the established order of the world, Wells pushes for a utopian world in which science is a religion and nation states do not exist any more.

The Open Conspiracy prophetically foreshadows current developments towards a global, technocratic government and data-driven decision making.
