The author poses the question: is it possible that the great flood really happened? In seeking an answer the reader is taken around the world, is introduced to obscure ancient languages, meets strange marine creatures, and encounters religion, folklore, archaeology and science. This is a challenging read, but a very rewarding one, if taken at a steady pace. There is much here to enjoy and to wonder at.
