Gloucester Isle has lured many visitors to the area. Indeed, this area of eastern Massachusetts has a long history as a favored vacation destination attracting many visitors. The cool, clean, clear air and attractive countryside coupled with ready access initially by railroad and then highways long ago established this region as a vacation mecca. The intent of this book is to highlight the region's history, setting and many attractions affording the visitor a broader and more inviting view of the area and offering many diverse options to complement a visit to this fabled Isle.
