In this collection of poems, Heather Awad brings a lot of her life experiences in love and family, depicting the failures within, often trying to determine her fate. She touches on other concepts such as politics, social media, and too, her experiences from an internship with a local police force. She could be termed a dreamer, a romantic, a thinker. She enjoys speaking to people through her poems, just as she is. Not in some fashion where less is understandable, but in a way where more is mainstream relatable. She is a muse, often lost in her own head, sometimes wishing life were as simple as it is for the birds outside her window.
