In present day Boston, college professor Francis "BB" McFadden receives the pilot's battered journal from Tommy Marino, the nephew of the pilot. He and Marino set out to find the answers to the recovery, and possibly the location of a religious artifact lost for millennia. Their return to Ethiopia pits them against a secret religious sect determined to protect the monastery at any cost...including murder!
