The Logic of al-Khūnajī is a comprehensive study of the thirteenth-century logician Afḍal al-Dīn al-Khūnajī (d. 1248), one of the most influential figures in the post-Avicennian logic. Combining a detailed commentary on Kasf al-asrār with historical and philosophical analysis, the book argues that Khūnajī's innovations are primarily semantic rather than syntactic. It examines his theories of propositions, conversion, contraposition, modal and hypothetical syllogisms, while situating them within the broader development of Arabic logic. The book also reassesses Khūnajī's relationship to Avicenna and his influence on later Islamic logic.
