Aprašymas

Across the US and Europe, right-wing populists, extremists, and radical conservatives forge powerful transnational networks in order to drive their ideologies across borders. Their goal is to undermine Western democracies and impose an authoritarian, anti-liberal, and hostile agenda. Thomas Greven demonstrates how these international networks systematically disseminate their ideas - such as the concepts of 'true people' and forced 'remigration' - into the mainstream or how they organize a global fight against 'the elites'. This is how conspiracy theories like the 'Great Replacement' are propagated across transatlantic and European networks. Using highly effective and technologically refined communication strategies, the radical right continually shifts the boundaries of what can be said and done further from the political center to the right. Their success is particularly evident in the fact that the 'firewall' of traditional conservative parties is crumbling and radicalized conservatives are adopting the rhetoric and policies of extremists. To counter this frontal attack of 'right-wing internationalism' entering liberal societies, democratic forces must also expand their transnational networking, share strategies, and organize collaborative actions.
